This Department intends to procure the following exotic birds species for Zoological Garden, Thiruvananthapuram. Sealed competitive tenders are invited for the supply of the exotic birds to the following stores.

1 Pair
2 Blue & Gold Macaw
1 Pair
3 Green Winged Macaw
2 Pairs
4 Sulphur Crested Cockatoo
2 Pairs
5 Rainbow Parakeets
4 Pairs
6 Chattering Parakeets
4 Pairs
7 Indian Ring Necked Parakeet Mutant
8 Pairs
8 Alexandria Parakeet Mutant
2 Pairs
9 Ecletus Parakeet
4 Pairs
10 Cassowary
2 Pairs
11 Ostrich Female
3 Pairs
12 Grey Parrots
2 Pairs

 

The tenders should be superscribed as "Supply of exotic birds to Zoological Gardens, Thiruvananthapuram" and addressed to the Director of Museums and Zoos, Thiruvananthapuram and should be in the prescribed tender forms. The last date for receipt of the tender will be 24.8.2009 till 1:00 p.m.. Late tenders will not be accepted. The tenders will be opened at 3:00 p.m. on 24.8.2009 at the office of the Director, Museums and Zoos, Thiruvananthapuram in the presence of the tenderers or their authorised representatives who choose to be present at that time. The eligible tender will be finalised on receipt of the approval of the Government. Once the tender is finalised, selected tenderer should supply the birds within 7 days and all the expenses inlcuding insurance, delivery charges etc. should be borne by the tenderer.

Intending tenderers may on application to the Director of Museums and Zoos, obtain the requisite form containing the species of birds on which tenders should be submitted. Application for the tender form should be accompanied by a cash remittance of Rs. 6700/- plus VAT which is the price fixed for the form and which is not refundable under any circumstances. The tender forms are not transferable

Sale of tender forms will close at 1:00 p.m. on 19.8.2008. Cheques, postage stamps etc. will not be accepted towards the cost of the form nor the forms be sent as V.P.P.. Duplicate tender form if required will be issued for Rs. 3,460/- plus VAT per copy.

Tenders which lack the required documents such as sufficient EMD which is not below 1% of the proposed quoted tender amount etc. will be summarily rejected even if rates quoted are the lowest

The undersigned reserves the right to reject or postpone the tender. Further details govrening supply and species required can be had from the office of the Director of Museums and Zoos, Thiruvananthapuram during office hours.
